Have Stardardized Testing Check-mated Our Schools

I have posted an introduction and video in the forums section and invite educators, parents and the community at large to join us in a discussion. You may jump directly by going to Checkmate. Thomas L. Friedman, New York Times columnist, addresses U.S. competitiveness in his op-ed piece titled, "A Word From the Wise." I respectfully submit chess in the classrooms can go a long way in helping to bridge the digital gap. As evidence, I submit the new key phrases and challenges our schools face today are; critical thinking, problem-solving, planning ahead, deductive learning, and socially interactive - things which chess can develop. Your honor, I rest my case!
Submitted by John B Flores
