29 teams in the TCCL square off
5 new teams joined in October, bringing the total number of teams to 29!
This is proving to be an exciting season with a lot of variety and an amazing amount of overall strength.
We are running out of tables and chairs *(hey, that's a GOOD thing) but one more team would make an even number and make my life a lot easier.
Individual players welcome, as teams are usually looking for fill-ins. It is also possible to form a team from the walk-ins.
See the TCCL Forum for second round results and Third round pairings.
As requested, the spreadsheet has returned. I will update the individual board standings next month.
Next meeting: November 21
Note: February round conflicts with the MN Open, so it has been moved up to Feb 6

New teams (teams of 4 players). Each new team will get 1/2 match point for round 1.

The first night, all 8 teams for the Round Robin section were present and accounted for. As usual, some exciting play ensued. Results are posted in the TCCL section of the Forum shortly. A pairing chart is included.
We currently have 16 teams in the Swiss section. The results from round 1 are posted, along with next month's pairings.

Six games, swiss pairings. Time control is game in 90 minutes with 10 sec. delay. Round times are Saturday at 10-2-6(asap), and Sunday at 9-1-5(asap). USCF Rated, so national membership required. Entry fee $30 by Sept. 17th., $40 at the door. Register from 9:00-9:45am. Early entries should go to Bill Murray, 8348 Riverview Lane, Brooklyn Park, MN. 55444. Site: Kelly Inn at Marion and I-94 in St. Paul (easy to spot on the north side of the freeway, directly across from the St. Paul Cathedral.) 161 St. Anthony Ave., St. Paul, MN. 55103 Hotel phone: (651) 227-8711.

Please pre-enter early and if you can not make it, E-mail Bill by Friday and he will tear up your check. Up to two byes available for any round, but must be requested before start of tournament. We need to close registration by 9:45 to make last minute room adjustments and make pairings by 10:00. I do not know how to set your clock.
There is a restaurant on site with reasonable prices. Get a receipt and drop it in the container at the TD's table. This is important!
Free parking. Bus routes nearby. Room rates about $119.
