Richard DuRocher and St. Olaf College once again hosted an excellent tournament. The beautiful buildings, excellent architecture and scenic layout were superb and breath-taking. The final count was 35, which represents a record turnout. We publicly thank all the participants for making it a great success.

We would also like to thank James Kanne who served as Chief Tournament Director and Thomas Burns for assisting. We appreciate Mark Rosenberger who joined us for most of the day and for bringing pictures to share with the participants. We appreciate him and his family for donating the chess clock to the winner of the Open section.

I forgot to acknowledge Abraham Ira Payton, St. Olaf Chess Club President, for making us feel welcomed and at home - thank you!
